Our history,
The old saying
“necessity is the mother of invention” couldn’t be more true. A
fire which destroyed most of our warehouse space and all of our
vehicle dismantling ability focused our attention solely on
implementing systems and procedures which would make our
dismantling process as safe as possible, while addressing three
crucial factors, 1)cleanliness, 2)efficiency and 3)eliminating
environmental concerns.
After being in the
recycling industry for over 25 years, we realized there just
wasn’t an efficient and economical tool on the market which would
allow us to run the kind of safe, clean, environmentally friendly
operation we all strive for. Sure there were several options
available, but none seemed to address every issue. It took
several pieces of equipment and different procedures to
adequately address our concerns and none looked particularly
efficient in any combination. Since we were forced into
rebuilding our physical plant, we decided if the equipment we
needed wasn’t available, we would make our own. The first area
we focused on was cleanliness and efficiency in our vehicle
dismantling shop. This led to the development of our “Quick
Draw” fluid recovery system.
After several
months of design and fabrication we installed eight of these
units in our new dismantling facility and it far exceeded our
expectations. All fluids are drained in a safe, clean and
efficient manner. No more pools of antifreeze on the floor.
Orders for oil dry all but ceased. “Drain tables” are now “tear
down” tables. Most importantly to us, gasoline is removed in a
very safe manner. Our old methods, which most dismantlers use
today, were the cause of our fire. No longer are tanks removed
full with gallons of flammable gasoline lying around in the
shop. All of our fluids are pumped over 100 feet away from our
building and our most valuable asset, our employees.
This equipment
provided three other benefits. It enabled us to drain automatic
transmissions and inspect the inside of the pan for excess metal
while still on the rack, thus reducing the amount of transmission
failures for our customers. Also, because of the manner in which
we removed gas tanks, we were breaking a large portion of fuel
pumps which outnumbered the tanks in possible revenue many times
over. We now saved the $150 part, and got rid of the $50 part.
Finally, all fluids are recovered in a clean manner which allows
to us sell them to other fluid recyclers.
We applied this
same logic to draining our “junk cars”. When metal prices were
higher, we could buy up to 60 cars a day. We had to find a
clean, efficient way to drain all fluids from these vehicles.
Previously, we only focused on removing the gasoline, but as we
all are aware, we are now tasked to be more environmentally
responsible. Not to mention the revenue from recyclable fluids
we were crushing was sizable. There are several pieces of
equipment available for this process, but once again, none
answered all of our needs, particularly in an affordable manner.
We invented “The Guzzler” to meet our needs and feel it is the
best system on the market for scrap vehicle processing.
Our company is
focused on providing fellow recyclers with the best possible
equipment on the market. We stand behind our equipment with a
full one year warranty and stock replacement parts so recyclers
don’t have to deal with down time. If you are ready to make your
facility safer, cleaner and more efficient, check out what we
have to offer. Let us make your shop the envy of others.
